Hike To Chandragiri

Hike to Chandragiri is one of the most beautiful hike that can be done within the Kathmandu Valley. We did this hike on 04th Feb 2023.

We started our hike early in the morning at 9:00 am. Before that we took a cab from our hometown- Budhanilkantha to Chandragiri Cable Car Station. There are a different price of the ticket according to your nationality (Nepalese, SAARC countriec, other Nationalities) and also the age group. The price start from Rs 475 for a one way. As were doing only a one way it cost us 475 rs. It is also one of the longest cable car station here is Nepal. The total ride is about 13 min from the down station to the highest point.

The main center of attraction to the Domestic tourist is the Chandragiri Temple. The total altitude is 2551 m.

From Chandragiri to Hattiban is about 12-14 Km. According the normal pace it will take about 4-5 hrs. During the hike you will elevation gain of 550m.

In between there is only one Tea House i.e : Chaap Bhanjyang. At that point you will also meet the hikers coming from the Majhi Gau. From Chaap Bhanjyang to Hattiban is about another 3-4 hrs walk.

I would suggest the Hikers to take some small picnis and enough water so that you will not get tired and hungry on the way.

It was one of the wonderful hike till the date.

P.S: The hike can also be done from the other side but it is more strenous.
